Electromagnetism

This is a list of posts that fall into the category of electricity and magnetism. We’ve relatively few of these at the moment. Those we do have should really live in the mechanics section, since the emphasis is not so much on the fields themselves but on how charges react to them. We hope to expand this section soon.

Crossed B and g fields –  brush up on your Greek as we bamboozle a particle by subjecting it to both magnetic and gravitational forces.

Damped motion in a B field – ever irresponsibly fired a charged particle into something magnetised and gooey? Discover the repercussions here.

Dipole in an Electric Field – the classic tale of ‘dipole meets field’. I don’t know what I’m doing with these descriptions any more.

Electric Dipole Moment – a quick derivation of the general dipole field, furnished by some superficial discussion.
